Welcome To Burnley Golf Club

Established in 2007 the Burnley Golf Club was formed by a group of social golfers with the aim of playing competitive golf in an enjoyable club atmosphere. Our club is based at the City of Yarra run Burnley Public Golf Course which is located only 9 minutes from the centre of the Melbourne CBD.

The club runs weekly competitions on Saturday mornings with prizes awarded for the winner and 'nearest the pin'. Lunch and drinks are usually available in the club rooms after each round for those wishing to discuss the days events.

***Burnley Golf Club welcomes new members***
If you are interested in joining all you need to do is come along any Saturday at about 7:45am and we'll organise your first handicap card round. Our first tee off is at 8:00am.

Burnley Golf Club AGM
The Burnley Golf Club AGM was held on August 28th with the various reports from committee members detailing that the club is in a good position. The main business of any AGM is to elect the new committee for the following year. Congratulations to the following people that have been entrusted with running the club:
  President John Geddes
  Treasurer Chris Horne
  Captain James Fowler
  VGL Councillor Andrew Buttery
A notable name missing from this list is Tony Brotherton who decided not to re-nominate for the position of Secretary after three years in the job. Tony will however stay involved with the committee and continue in his role of Public Officer and club hanidcapper.

Results From This Weeks Comp
It was everyones favourite competition type of Par this weekend with a small but competitive turn out. Tony "I'm not playing that well" Brotherton put in a blinder to win the comp with a +9. Perhaps it was the weight of secretarial duties about to be lifted off his shoulders that allowed him to swing so freely today. In second place with a score of +6 was Andrew Buttery. The trip to Europe and the round at the "other" Burnley golf course obviously doing him some good.

Next weeks round is the last monthly medal so if you haven't won one this year it's your last chance
