An Extremely Brief History
In 2007, a group of golfers, who regularly play at the City of Yarra public golf course at Burnley decided to form a golf club that was to be affiliated with the Victorian Golf League.

- Incorporated 13th November, 2007
- Affiliated with the VGL 29th November, 2007
Burnley Golf Club celebrated it first birthday in September 2008 and continues to grow.
2009
In 2009 Burnley Golf Club fielded it's first Matchplay team in the V.G.L. Handicap eighth division. It also won it's first trophy in V.G.L. events with Andrew Buttery being runner up in the Captain's Divison during the P.C.S.C. Day. Glenn Stojanovic was also runner up for the Medal of Medallist, but lost in a countback. Other events of note was the 2nd annual Ambrose organsied by John Geddes that had over 50 participants.
2010
In 2010 Burnley Golf Club president John Geddes achieved first place in V.G.L. PSCS event, marking the first win in a VGL event after a couple of near misses. 2010 was also the year of the first hole in one, by Andrew Richards.
